Our Salicylic Acid Peel is a 3 on our peel scale of 0-5. This means that is is medium strength and will produce medium flaking that you will definitely see. Salicylic acid is oil soluble-That means that it is attracted to oils and can dig super deep in your pores until it finds it and pulls it out while killing breakout causing bacteria. Obviously this is perfect if you have oily or congested breakout prone skin. Another benefit to the acne prone crowd is that it is an anti-inflammatory. It is also excellent at reducing the bumps and spots that are associated with acne. Even the strongest peels are not a "one and done" treatment- which is why we recommend them in a series of 6-8. Salicylic peels can be done every 1-2 weeks depending on your skin's natural sensitivity level. We recommend receiving your series consecutively every 1-2 weeks in a row, then using professional products at home while breaking from your series- and starting one back up again when you feel your skin could use a refresh! It is always highly recommended to pre and post treat your skin with any chemical peel. ESPECIALLY if you struggle with dark spots.
